Monthly, 12 or 24 months: what are you paying for?
The cheapest-looking monthly figure is not always the smallest commitment. Choose a billing term based on the initial payment you are comfortable making, how long you need the VPN and what the plan will cost when it renews.
Monthly: a smaller commitment
A monthly VPN subscription is normally charged one month at a time. It can suit a short trip or trying a provider on your own devices. The monthly rate is often higher than the equivalent rate for a longer prepaid plan. Check the cancellation process and whether renewal is automatic.
12 months: a year paid in advance
An annual offer usually requires the initial year’s charge upfront. Some promotions include extra months. For example, a headline annual promotion may actually cover 15 months; divide the full initial payment by the real duration rather than assuming it is a rolling monthly bill.
24 months: compare the full cost
Two-year offers often advertise the lowest monthly equivalent. The initial payment, however, covers a long period and may include promotional months. A $19.95 charge over 24 months is about $0.83 per month, but the checkout still charges $19.95 upfront. Availability and terms depend on the provider.
Check renewal separately
The first term can have a discounted price that does not continue. Record the renewal date, price and renewal period. A two-year introductory offer may renew as a one-year subscription. A refund policy has conditions and is different from a no-payment free trial.
What GetVPNoffer compares
Our selector prefers your chosen billing term and plans that cover your simultaneous devices. We show verified public USD price examples where available, and label unknown prices. The actual affiliate offer can differ by region, currency, tax and promotion, so the provider’s checkout is the final source.
